PRESENTATION El medi natural del Bages, the natural environment of Bages is a study with a certainly wide objective: the nature as a whole, from both geological and biological view points, of the diverse district of Bages. This attempt has required to concentrate in two directions. On the one hand, an accurate synthesis to present only the really important issues is needed; on the other hand, every topic has to be explained in a friendly and intelligible way. The images must communicate the beauty and the knowledge of the nature of Bages district at once. El medi natural del Bages (the natural environment of Bages) is arranged in 20 chapters, every one dedicated to one subject -the climate, the geomorphology, the environmental damages …- or to one specific ecosystem -the oakwoods, the riverside forest, the wetlands ...- which is found in the nature of Bages. Every chapter is rather independent.
El medi natural del Bages (the natural environment of Bages) has two available supports. First, these are the big panels to be displayed in public. Second, this is the present digital format that can be read whether in its original Catalan, in Spanish or partially in English and that additionally contains an index of the illustrated species. 1024x768 pixels is the best screen configuration to sail through this website. El medi natural del Bages (the natural environment of Bages) is a collective work of the ICHN's delegation of Bages. It started in 1999 with the ICHN's centenary and it is periodically reviewed and updated. The photos and charts -these are 2046 illustrations as a whole- as well as the texts are originals of the authors and contributors.
